Day 4

Tenterfield to Glen Innes proved to be a nice ride for the riders. It was a 95 km ride with only one broken spoke in the back of Kristy's wheel at the 80 km mark. There were no flats along the way - a day of rest for our Bike Mechanic, Nick!

A challenge event for today was racing up Bolivia Hill. It was apparently great fun but very hard. Our legend cyclist Scott Sam was first to the top with hardly even a sweat up !

Today we visited Sir Henry Parkes School in Tenterfield, Deepwater School and Glen Innes Primary. All the kids at the schools were very excited to see the riders and the puppets. Some of the little kids ask the funniest things. Check out a couple of questions we were asked:

Do they shave while they are on their bikes?

If it rains do they hold their handle bars with one hand and an umbrella over them with the other hand?

How many bumps have they been over?

Due to some time constraints getting to the last school on time, Westy (Mark) grabbed several of the seasoned riders and they rode like the wind (pushing 31 kms per hour) to get to the School so the kids wouldn't miss out on seeing some of the riders. This is the sort of lengths these amazing group of people are prepared to go to for the kids. It was really worth it as the kids were so excited to see them and their bikes.
