I'm back again to do the Camp Quality (1000Km) Ride for Kids. Last years event was unbelievable, but each year the team at CQ just plan bigger and better fundraisung events, so how could I refuse.
1000kms in 10 days - sounds like a good challenge, but always remember it's for the KIDS. If they can put on such brave faces through months of chemo and illness, then 10 days on a bike seems insignificant by comparison.

My story … I have been involved with Camp Quality for 6 years. This organisation does amazing things for kids with cancer, and I can speak first hand of the truly wonderful programs CQ runs to bring the fun and laughter back into these kids lives. Parents can sometimes feel so helpless when a child gets sick. This is magnified significantly when that sickness is cancer.
Sorry to now get morbid, but your day to day life can become a dark place for everyone in the family. Camp Quality has this unique ability to bring the light back into our lives and we can never say thank you enough for this gift.
So, lets bring it. I urge you to get involved and support Camp Quality during this event. Become a jersey sponsor, sponsor a rider directly, or just say g'day if you see us out on the road. We will be eternally grateful

I am 43 years old, born in England, emigrated to Australia in 1994. I am married to Jo and have four children, Shaun 14, Holly 11, Liam 6, Kyle 5 (turns 6 when we are away on this Ride!). I work for a Lighting Company (Sylvania Lighting).

I enjoy Formula 1 and most things car related, enjoy Riding took this up after a 20 year break late in 2010.

My son, Kyle was diagnosed with Leukaemia the day before his first birthday, Shaun his brother was the donor for a bone marrow transplant in April 2008. Kyle has remained disease free now three years, it is time I did something to support the Charity that supported my family through this period and support the greater cause of fighting cancer.

I have been associated with Camp Quality Newcastle for the last 18 months through my girlfriend who is a volunteer. I am known as the head BBQ chef at most fundraising days as I always seem to be there. I am completing the 1000 km 4 Kids ride in 2012 as it is such a fabulous charity to be associated with, and it is my way to contribute to the future fun therapy activities for the kids and families.

I am a 34 year old born and bred Queenslander who now calls Newcastle home.  I enjoy BBQ's, surfing and spending time with my beautiful partner Ashley, family and friends.  I love everything about Camp Quality and am looking forward to another adventure for the kids.

The 2011 Ride 4 Kids was an awesome event and I wouldn't miss the next one for the world.  I have recently become a dad to our beautiful son Brody and I know just how precious children are.  I want to do everything I can to ensure that we raise as much awareness and funds for the inspirational kids of Camp Quality as we can.

I am a 45 year old father of one who took up riding several years ago to stay fit. There are not many hours left in the day where I am not working or riding but the few I do have spare I am an avid sports fanatic, couch style. Boilermaker at Perfab Engineering but this is only temporary till I win Lotto and can ride full time for charities.
Why am I doing the ride - to raise awareness and funds to enable Camp Quality to continue the great work they do for the kids and their families.
