Today saw the riders take on the challenge of 118 kms from Warwick into Tenterfield. Today was a much easier ride with no head winds to contend with.
The wonderful Support Crew were up bright and early to cook up some yummy pancakes. Maree was banned from pancake duty after dropping a plastic knife into one of the bottles and making the mixture way too runny. Her punishment was to balance a paper plate on her head !! Ash and Brads pancakes were much better !
After they filled up on breakfast, the riders were on their way. They arrived safe and sound at Stanthorpe and after a yummy lunch headed off to Wallangarra which is the border between Qld and NSW. A group photo was taken at the border and their was a suggestion that we leave Queenslanders Davey and Scott there - but we voted and decided to take them with us into NSW !
Another 20 kms and the riders arrived at the Telegraph Hotel at Tenterfield. The riders said they all really enjoyed the day.
They went for showers and a rest and then showed up at the dining room for fun therapy which tonight was bad beanie night and the punters challenge. There was lots of really horrible beanies and not many winnings on the punters club, but lots of fun was had.
Special Jerseys were tonite given to Sophie for the Joker Jersey for having a Clayton's puncture after pulling all the riders up to fix her flat tyre only to find out the tyre wasn't flat !
Kristy Scarlett was given the King of the Mountains Jersey for perseverance and riding past the pain threshold - you are an inspiration Kristy.
Clint was given the Keith Lawrence Most Supportive Jersey for "sticking like glue" to Kristy L. from start to finish including feeding her, watering her and pushing her up the hills - u legend Clint!
Scott Sam got the L Plate award for causing the Fairy King to have a near heart attack by spreading out too far on the highway and almost getting wiped out by a semi !
As of tonite the Purple Team is winning the Team Challenge - there is fierce competition as the winning team will get to ride in first when we finish in Newcastle on the 16th.
Brian the Fine Master is busy handing out fines for misdemeanors and felonies and this is causing Teams to loose points and Camp Quality to gain funds from the coins raised from fines !
As I write this everyone is in having a few drinks while Dazza and Brad are doing everyone's washing - they are amazing and we would be absolutely lost without them. They don't go to bed until everything is done.

Thanks Donna for the updates and Photos!!! Les you promised you would keep the outfit at home!! LOL Sal and the PF Team!
ReplyDeleteHi, I was wondering what time you are heading through Armidale and Uralla tomorrow? We would love to see you guys and let our son meet the people that make Camp Quality possible. Thanks for doing a terrific job.
